Strengthening Traditional Institutions Through Knowledge and Capacity
Free Capacity-Building InitiativeInLaME recognises the important role traditional leaders and institutions continue to play in community leadership, governance, cultural preservation, social development and national life.
As part of its institutional commitment to strengthening traditional leadership, InLaME will provide free capacity-building programmes for traditional leaders and selected traditional institution officials. The initiative is designed to provide practical knowledge and professional development in areas that can enhance the effectiveness, confidence and institutional capacity of traditional leaders in a changing world.
Our Commitment
InLaME believes that traditional leaders should have access to relevant knowledge and professional development opportunities that enable them to navigate contemporary institutional, legal, technological and international environments while remaining firmly grounded in their traditional responsibilities and cultural values. The initiative is therefore designed as a service to traditional institutions, with participation in designated capacity-building programmes provided at no cost to eligible traditional leaders.
The programmes will be delivered through seminars, workshops, executive sessions, expert-led masterclasses, institutional dialogues and other appropriate learning formats.
From Tradition to Contemporary Leadership
The objective is not to replace traditional knowledge with modern systems, but to create a meaningful interface between traditional leadership and contemporary knowledge. InLaME seeks to support traditional leaders to become increasingly effective custodians of their institutions, communities, heritage and development responsibilities.
Knowledge strengthens leadership. Stronger leadership strengthens institutions.
